We
had a wonderful turnout at our quilt show this past weekend. We had 67
quilts registered, around 70 visitors, and ended up selling hundreds of
chances on our opportunity quilt. It was well worth the effort that
everyone put out to make it a fantastic show. We would like to take this
opportunity to sincerely thank everyone who helped out last weekend.
You made it possible to get through it enjoyably with all sanity intact.

We had a great meeting last night! 5 quilts were brought to participate in the president's Guild Challenge. The guild members were asked to make a quilt representing a song title of their choice, and everyone else would take a guess as to what song the quilt represented. It was a lot of fun and we had some lovely quilts entered. Though we took a vote as to which quilt was the best interpretation of the given song, I think everyone was a winner.
WE WOULD LIKE TO REMIND EVERYONE ALSO OF OUR UPCOMING QUILT SHOW NEXT WEEKEND (26th AND 27th). To those who were not present at last night's meeting, we will outline the schedule here.
On Friday the 26th, we will be registering quilts, preparing the pin cushion exhibit, and setting up the showroom at the Hamilton Federated Church from 3pm-8pm. *Please bring your pin cushions that you would like to include in the exhibit along with your quilt(s)* Anyone who is free for any amount of time that evening will be most welcome to come and help out. If you have not been previously assigned to a specific duty that night, fear not. We expect there will be plenty for everyone to do.
Saturday the 27th is the big day. We will open at 10am and close at 4pm. We will need people on hand to hand out ballots at the door and to attend to the visitors and quilts throughout the day. We also will be selling chance tickets for the Opportunity Quilt through the day. The voting on the quilts will end at 3pm, and the show closes at 4pm. *The drawing for the Opportunity Quilt will take place within the 3pm-4pm hour*. We hope to have the votes counted and the ribbons pinned on before closing time. Quilts will be picked up between 4:15pm and 5pm. We will have a system to make sure that no quilts are lost and they all return home to their rightful owners. It is our paramount goal that this time is as less confusing and stressful as possible. After this, we will be "tearing down" and restoring the church to it's pre-show state. This entails tearing down the quilt racks and moving the chairs and tables back to where they were.
Again, anyone who is available during these times to help out a bit would be most welcome. PLEASE bring as many quilts as you want to enter. We want to have a full show.
It is our aim to return each and every quilt to their owners in exactly the same shape as they were given to us. Every precaution will be taken to preserve the quilts throughout the duration of the show.
We endeavor to make this a very organized event. We want to cut as much stress as possible out of the equation. No one can be perfect, so we must keep in mind that everyone is doing what they can and that this is supposed to be ultimately FUN.
