We had our October meeting last night.
We have made a few developments in regards to our ideas to start donating quilts to both veterans and active servicemen and servicewomen. I personally think that it is an excellent idea. The men and women in the military go through a lot just to keep home a safe place to be, and they deserve to know that everyone at home is supporting them and appreciates their service. Please think of veterans you know that you would like to show your appreciation to by presenting them with a quilt. We will enter their names in a drawing next month.
Next month is the President's Challenge. PLEASE BRING YOUR CIRCLE QUILTS TO THE NOVEMBER MEETING!!
We tentatively plan to have a party at the December meeting, plus we plan to elect new officers. Please be thinking about what office you would like to have so that we can keep the guild active. New officers will keep the guild well balanced and will bring in new ideas, so please don't be afraid to volunteer!
Here are the finished blocks for the block kits that were passed out last night. You can use these pictures to refer to for placement of fabrics.
Here is the show and tell from last night:
This is a sampler made from a pattern that Romme acquired from her Jo Morton club at Crossroads Quilting.
This is a lovely Judy Niemeyer pattern made in batiks.
The Mystery Quilt program was last night. I think everyone had fun getting started on their projects.
