We had a very brief business meeting Thursday night, which consisted of the Treasurer's report and the passing out of the Block of the Month. Cindy brought some beautiful show and tell items (pictured below), and then we got busy on our ribbon-making project. We got a lot done and I think we will definitely be prepared for our quilt show in September!
Our quilt show is on September 24th during Penney Days, with registration on the 23rd. We will be holding it at the Federated Church in Hamilton as we have for the past 2 years. We will once again be collaborating with the Braymer Crazy Quilters, who made last year so fun and contributed so many good ideas that made the weekend run more smoothly.
Hours for Registration on Friday the 23rd;
3pm to 7pm
Hours for the Quilt Show on Saturday the 24th;
10am to 4pm
WE WILL HAVE THE SAME POLICY REGARDING HELP AS WE HAVE HAD IN PAST YEARS. ANYONE WHO HAS TIME TO HELP AT ANY TIME OVER THE WEEKEND IS MORE THAN WELCOME TO COME. NO SET WORKING SHIFTS WILL BE SCHEDULED. COME WHEN YOU CAN, STAY AS LONG AS YOU WOULD LIKE.
There was some thought given to using the sanctuary this year for quilt display and using the pews to drape the quilts on, in addition to having quilts displayed in the fellowship hall on tables the same as last year. This would also save the trouble of having to drag out several tables. We had obtained permission to do this last year, and we hope we can again this year if that will be possible. No definite arrangements have yet been made for this.
ALSO; ANYONE WHO HAS SOLD RAFFLE TICKETS OR HAS TAKEN ANY HOME TO SELL; PLEASE BRING YOUR STUBS, TICKET MONEY, AND/OR UNSOLD TICKETS BACK TO THE SEPTEMBER MEETING (September 15) SO WE CAN HAVE EVERYTHING WE NEED TO SELL TICKETS AT THE SHOW AND TO DRAW FOR THE QUILT AT THE END OF THE DAY!
