April Meeting

We had a great meeting last night. We had a good attendance, and I think we all learned something from Linda's embroidery presentation and workshop. I personally feel that it is very refreshing to actually engage in an activity as a group rather than to simply listen to a speaker talk about a given subject.
Linda is a wonderful hand-embroiderer and she has made many items. She showed a few of her projects (pictured below) and engaged the whole room in making embroidered snowmen.  Overall it was a very enjoyable evening in a relaxed, comfortable setting.
Along with the embroidery workshop, we had a regular meeting as well. We are close to our goal of 20 community service quilts that will be donated to the Baptist Home in Chillicothe in August. We only have a few tops that need to be backed, batted, quilted and bound. After we reach our goal, community service quilts that are made will go towards the retreat for families of inmates of the Western Missouri Correctional Center in Cameron.
